There are times for study and times of reflection. I learned long ago that when we study without "brain rest" to learn a specific concept we can fill our minds with so much information that we experience "study overload." This can happen with anything including God's Word. This is why I have created this series.
If we take all things in moderation we will make more productive use of our time and more easily understand and implement what we want to learn.
You can tell for certain if you are out of this balance when you become desperate to learn something and the answer is not forthcoming. You become impatient and frustrated.
To overcome this problem, you need to rest your mind from all thoughts and put forth the faith that you will discover what you need to know. Say a quick prayer that God will lead you to the information you need. Once you develop the assurance that you have it, I guarantee you will be led to the right information with the ability to understand and perform it.
When it comes to the Bible, it's a good idea to read simple statements of faith along with your Bible study in the specific areas of your need that will not only create faith, but give you a clear picture of what might otherwise be difficult spiritual concepts for you. This will give the mind rest and clarity at the same time.
The following Christian Reflections of faith and direction will help you do just that. I will be adding more as time goes by as this series seems to be quite popular.
Please enjoy!
