Not meeting my own expectations....I feel lost as well

I am struggling on how I should put my story as it is nothing like the others I've read. It is both a success story and a reachout. It starts in my previous city in nw pennsylvania.

First my success story:
I have worked in the technical computer world for 13 years now in a variety of positions. Not much more than a year ago I bid on and got a job I absolutely cherished with the company I was very comfortable at making great money and with an amazing management team and coworkers. It was a real joy to go into work every day. Best of all the hours were great and the company is secure.

Very recently a close coworker of mine landed a job in Phoenix where he has always wanted to live. One day he was looking for jobs for all of his friends who just wanted out of the snow. He came across a job with a company that had a job that was right up my alley...so he showed me the posting. I glanced over it and thought to myself...seems very interesting but clear across the country. So I humored myself, updated my resume, posted it with some obscene salary
thinking I would never even get a call on it...but at least my resume was updated.

2 days later I got a call from the hiring IT recruiter who was impressed enough to arrange a phone interview with the hiring manager. That conversation was so amazing it was uncanny how much in common career-wise and how we were both so passionate about what we did. That turned into them moving my wife,3 kids and I moving across the country. We've been here for just over

a month now and are definitely enjoying the weather and my wife not having to work as my new salary is sufficient enough to support us. this sounds great but something has changed with me.

And now for my reachout:
The past couple of weeks have been a rollercoaster for me professionally. I feel good some days when I leave work and feel so lost and worried that I've made the wrong decision and uprooted my family for the wrong reasons. Prior to me accepting my job I prayed hard for a sign letting me know what I was supposed to do. I don't feel I got a hardfast sign but through some talks with friends and my wife it was brought to my attention that maybe the fact that it all worked out like it did even with me not even looking for a job....maybe that was my sign.

I love what I do and I love mu new company but I'm worried about these feelings of uncertainty I've been experiencing. I feel lost almost. I feel I can be great but doubt myself lately as I've learned I may not be as good at this company as I was with my previous. It was very easy for me to succeed there...it seems the opposite now. I've read all of the others' stories and hope I can be helped as well.

Thanks.

Seek God's Will For Your Life From Where You Are
by: Anonymous

Hello again,

Thank you for your patience in waiting for my answer.

I?m thankful that you are able to tell when things aren't quite right. This means that you hear God and know that He is trying to convey something to you. However, the important part is understanding His communication. Many times we need to spend time in prayer to know what God is trying to tell us.

To begin, sometimes we set ourselves up to get fleeced. This happens when we say things like, "if this works out, then we'll know it's the right thing to do" or "I don't have a bad feeling about this so I?m sure it is good." Then we realize that we should have listened to God instead of our minds. There are many ways we can get fleeced simply by saying that if a certain thing happens, and then it does, that is the sign to go ahead and do something.

However, in your case I don?t think that is what happened. I say this only because you do hear from God, you're just not sure how to hear what He?s saying as I have said.

You do have a strong sense of knowing when things are right and when they're wrong from within your spirit. So if you shouldn't have changed jobs and moved, you probably would have felt it to be wrong very strongly before you made the change.

I suggest that you pray by the prayer of faith and ask God to give you guidance and understanding about the feeling you have. Then believe by faith that you have received. Take times to keep your mind quiet to hear. You may also need to use the prayer of consecration and dedication to know what God?s will is for you aside from your new job. Perhaps there is a ministry that you are not fulfilling in your church or life and that is the emptiness you?re feeling. In any case, God will show you the way. If you did, by chance, make a mistake, praying in this way will help you to know what to do and how to fix things. God can take a mistake and make something wonderful out of it.

Also, perhaps God wanted you in a place where you needed to stretch in order to prepare you for something you're not ready for yet. This can be uncomfortable at first. We come to a place in life where we get too comfortable and God can't move us forward.
