Stay At Home Mom

Hello,
I'm a stay-at-home mom in my late twenties. I have three children ages 8, 5, and 6 months. I learned in my early twenties how to trust God for the work I wanted to do and I believe that I received the answer. However, I feel my best calling in life is taking care of my children. For me, I prefer the order of children first, career second.
What I find sad is that many women feel that my life is wasted because I'm not working outside my home. Yet I’m open minded enough to not judge women who do. We all have to follow our hearts. I believe this is the correct Biblical path for me. I'll never get this time again with my children so I want to enjoy them while I can and instill in them Christian values.
However, I understand that many women have to work or don't enjoy staying home. We're not wealthy, but I put my faith in God for continual increase through my husband's work and other avenues of income we receive by faith. So I'm fortunate not to feel the pressure of money.
I am slowly working on my degree in journalism by taking Internet courses when possible and I write when I find the time. However, I have decided to develop myself as a writer who works from home.
My main purpose for writing is to give encouragement to women who desire to be stay at home moms but feel stressed from the pressure others might give them.
I never bother to defend my decision, so my best advice for anyone in my place is to always follow the inner guidance you receive and don't let others influence you to feel badly about the good choices you make if they are different from the majority.
Thanks,
Emily

Thank you Emily for your great comment and contribution to this site! I was a stay at home mom at one time too!
Life shouldn't be about harsh judgment and making people feel guilty about their choices. But many times it is. I'm glad you have the courage to live your dream in the order God has given it to you -- and at such a young age!
I remember getting much criticism from especially the working mothers in my family. They thought I was lazy even though I was making the same income as they were from my home business for fewer hours.
For Christians life is about living God's best as we know it and learn it. You're certainly doing that! Thanks again for your great success story. :-)
