What is an affirmation?
It’s a statement of belief that is spoken or silently muttered to one’s self to build faith for a need, desire, physical, mental or spiritual change. If you’re a Christian, it’s important to use scripture for affirmation creation.
What proof confirms this statement?
According to Proverbs 4:10 (see verse below), we’re told to hear God’s Word with the promise that the years of our lives shall be many. This establishes that we’re to make confessions of God’s Word for success.
Proverbs 4:10
10. Proverbs 4:10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
Romans 10:17 states that faith for what we desire comes by hearing. Thus, we use positive confessions or affirmations for greater faith because we can’t hear if we don’t speak first.

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
