It's true! You can raise your children while you earn an income from your home.

How do I know? Because I did it! I started my writing business with practically no money from a hobby that I loved and built it into a part-time $24,0000 a year business. However, that was years ago. I realize that today that amount doesn't stretch too far. But that was my starting point.

The potential for earning a greater income with lower overhead from the Internet, is being realized today by hundreds of thousands of men and women including myself.

In the past, I had to purchase ad space for hundreds of dollars every month, print and store the books I created, mail them out almost daily and keep a direct mail ad campaign through the mail going. My net income shown above could have been much higher had I been able to use the power of Internet marketing the way I do now.

However, that was then and this is now. What hasn't changed a whole lot is a prevailing attitude among some people that it's not fulfilling to stay home and bring up children.

When I first began working at home I received one very steady comment. "Why would you settle for staying at home, stuck with your children?"

That comment always confused me because I was able to live my dreams while I raised my children. I had the best of both worlds from my point of view.

Others would say, "as soon as my children could go to school, I got out of the house! How can you stand it?"

My own relatives would make comments, like "how's your little business doing?" Then they would laugh.

Unless I have a good reason, I never tell people how much money I make, so I didn't bother to tell them that I made more money from home than they did. Plus I didn't have to purchase work clothes, fight traffic for a couple of hours per day, or pay the higher cost of having to keep my children in day-care for over eight hours. They went to pre-school, but only for a limited time.

I saw myself as a wealthy living work at home mom from the beginning, but I kept quiet because I loved my life. I didn't feel that I needed to validate it to anyone. It was great not having to live a hectic life, running around trying to work and fit in my children and husband's schedules with mine at the same time.

I won't deny that it took some time to coordinate my business with raising children, but it was worth the effort! I wanted to raise my children on my own and give them the values I believed were important. So I happily lived with the stigma of "wasting my time by staying at home with my children."

This doesn't mean that I'm criticizing those who leave home for work, I'm just saying that this was my choice and I was able to live it! I gave respect to those who preferred different choices.

If you have the same desire I did, then you have the intent and determination it takes to become a wealthy living work from home mom or dad. You can do it and you can make it work for you successfully!
